Do you know the healthiest and fastest way to lose weight? Let’s face it everybody has some ideas about losing weight. After all the information is every where. It’s in every media outlet known to man. But, the question remains, do you know the fastest and healthiest way to lose the pounds and keep them off? This article will disclose 6 tips which will help you lose weight fast and best of all, keep it off. Please read on!
There is more than one way to lose weight but the basic principles are:
• Burn more calories than you consume
• Improve metabolism by exercising daily
• Avoid unhealthy foods
• Eat more good foods
• Have good genes!! (…but more on this in a later article)
Ok, so maybe you can’t do much about that last factor but the other 4 are completely within your control and they can all contribute to the fastest way to loose weight. Many bodybuilders and other sports people often need to loose weight quickly for a competition. However, their bodies are different from yours and mine. Generally you will find that their bodies’ metabolism is usually very fast, therefore they can strip off the pounds quicker. So how do you a regular person loose weight fast? Here are some tips:
1. Start the day well…
It may sound perverse, but eating a decnt amount at breakfast can actually help you lose weight faster. In many ways breakfast is the most vital meal of the day and a well balanced meal here will really lessen your appetite during the day. You’ll also have the entire day to burn the calories eaten at breakfast. A good breakfast could include whole grain cereal (if you can digets grains OK) mixed with fruits. A blended fresh fruit juice is also ideal — although processed commercial juices are a bit of a no-no. get yourself a good smoothie blender (min cost less than $40) ans make your own fresh juices and smoothies for a satidfying breakfast treat.
2. Then eat little and often!
The rest of your day’s eating should consist of small light meals. Planning to consume maybe 4 to 5 small meals throughout the day is good. Space them out at fairly equal intervals and avoid eating after 7pm, as this will allow digestion time before going to bed and sleep (a period when our metabolism should be slowed down and an important time of recuperation for the body, so it doesn’t want to be trying to digest that late-night supper). By sticking to small rather than large meals you are constantly steadily burning calories without ever getting to feel hungry and being tempted to snack on ‘high calorie low nutritive’ value foods (either sugary foods like biscuits, cakes, muffins, sweets and bars –
including the ridiculous so-called diet bars; or fatty foods like almost all packet snacks, savory biscuits and potato crisps. The almost ubiquitous muffin and do’nut are “double whammy” bad-foods as they are not only laden with sugar but also high in fat - AVOID at all costs).
3. Make good food choices
Consuming plenty of vegetables will assist in your objective to discover the fastest way to lose weight. Meat and meat products are denser foods as far as fat is concerned and should be eaten only in modest amounts (just like we were programmed to do back in pre-historic days), if you aren’t a vegetarian already, you may not want to cut out meat altogether but reduce the amount you are used to eating by cutting it back by a quarter then a half as you get accustomed to the reduce portion. BUT I’ll talk more about the real issues with meat consumption in afuture ‘update’. Fish is generally a low fat alternative, and ‘oily fishes’ are often touted as good for having vital Omega oils in them…BUT even fish consumption should be limited because of concers over incresaing levels of pollutants (and the oily fish are WORST for this) so no more than 2 potrtions of fish a week is good and make one of those oily. Chicken USED to be thought of as a ‘low-fat meat option’ but this too is a nonsense nowadays, as modern farming practices have created super-fatty chickens that produce meat that is as bad or worse than most red meat…Once again feature chicken on the menu no more than once or twice a week. Working towards a modest meat meal every other day is a bgood objective for improving the healthfulness of your diet. If you indulge in beef, lamb or pork then stick to very lean options in these red meats and only eat them once or twice per week maximum. Overall that means eating meat no more than four time a week in total and choosing your way around the meat and fish as decribed above.
4. Overhaul your snacking
You don’t actually have to forego snacks completely to lose weight fast. Your snacks simply must be low calorie. Consider an apple, strawberries or a bunch of blueberries as a snack. Not only are they healthful but also delicious. But rememeber that fruits may contain quite a lot of natural sugars so onec again we are not talking about too many portions of sweet fruits every day. If you want to eat the best haelth snack then vegetable pieces — maybe carrot, celery, some red or white cabbage, other green vegetables all consumed raw are good options. And don’t dismiss avicados — I’ll write more about why later but do not be out off by tales of high fat content. Avocados are a rich source of good oils that can actually help with achieving weightloss…If this sounds odd? Look out for future posts
5. Shake a leg…
And there is not getting away from it…you can’t lose weight fast without exercising. Depending just how fast you wish to lose weight, you may need to exercise quite intensively everyday for enough time to break a sweat and get your heart rate up for at least 20 minute. This means running or walking for at least 30 minutes twice per day (5 minutes warm up, and 5 minute cool/slow down at either end of the half hour is a good idea). You should also incorporate some resistance training as the gaining of muscle results in the faster loss of fat. This means ‘creting a resistance’ for your muscle to work against and gain strength. But most of you will not neceassrily be trying to ‘grow massive muscles’ but firm up and strengthen the normal muscle mass. In nutshell this means either plenty of ‘repetitions’ with light weight to firm-up without substantial growth (ideal for women who want to look lean and firm but not overtly muscular). For guys I guess a combination of both toning and building exercise might be preferred, But once again look out for further details and tips about exercising later on!
IMPORTANT NOTE: Naturally you should never suddenly ‘jump in’ to taking exercise no matter how fired up for losing weight you are. You MUST always get a check up from your medical adviser/MD/GP before starting a new exercise regoime and get the ‘all clear’ from them BEFORE you start! This is particularly the case if you are indeed considerably overweight just now, and/or you have suffered/ar suffering any particular health issues.

6. And drink plenty of water
Your whole body will benefit from drinking plenty of water. Water cleanses the bodies cells by flushing toxins from your system. Being fully hydrated also will help increase your metabolism so you burn fat more efficiently. BUT we are not talking about drinking just any old water, (more more about water later on the blog but for now let’s say that) in point of fact most all tap water is contaminated with additives and residues. YES I know the water companies say these are tiny amounts, or even claim the additives (like chlorine or flouride) are for our good — but take it from me this is SPURIOUS CLAPTRAP. If you don’t know why already, come back again soon for more information on the way our water has been ruined. Choose to drink either a good, trustworthy mineral water, and or get ‘cleaner’ water by distilling at home, or using a good quality filtering system (this is an investment, but beleive me pays dividends in the end!!). Ignore ‘gainsayers’ who claim there is no proof that hydration is efficacious. This is plain nonsense. We dehydrate by about 20% over our lifetime (from about four-fifths water to three-fifths water) and dehydration has many known ill-health consequences. All our bodily functions need good clean source of water to allow the cleansing and nutrition process to work effctively and efficiently. Aim to drink a steady intake of between half a pint an hour, or half a liter every two hours, throughout the day; starting when you wake up (let say 7am) through to early evening (say 8pm) so that you consume up to about THREE liters a day in total (aim for 1 liter/day your first week, then two the second week and try for three liter/day the third week and maintain this level). You will visit the toilet to urinate like mad during the ‘phasing in’ of this habit, but as your body acclimatizes to being ‘properly hydrated and nourished’ you will be AMAZED at how transformed you feel! Well hydrated people not that they feel brighter, fitter, more energized, more on-the-ball, more mentally alert, clearer minded…a host of benefits…try it, it works. *Naturally there are diminishing returns after the ‘three liter per day’ level, and it IS possible to drink too much water, and suffer health probelms as a result. So this is a case of ‘more is better’ only up to a point. Be sensible.
The fastest way to lose weight need not be a dangerous or unhealthy process — BUT you also have to realize what is an acceptable definition of “fast”! If you gained weight over a number of years, don’t expect to drop it in days or weeks. Losing weight fast should mean at a rate NO GREATER than about 3lbs a week. Realize that in three months this represents 36-40lbs! Nearly three stone!
What sort of difference would that make to you! Three months to lose nearly three stones is a fair target and this means planning, implementing a program of diet and actvity related changes and STICKING TO IT.
Forget the nonsense you see ot hear, this is the best, healthiest and most guaranteed way to achieve long-term weight loss that STAYS off.
